Yacan Setup Guide

Overview

This guide walks you through connecting your Yacan locks to Seam. Seam controls Yacan locks that are online through a Yacan Gateway G2, so your locks must already be installed, paired to a gateway, and visible in your Yacan account before proceeding.

Step 1: Confirm Your Yacan Account

You authorize Seam using your existing Yacan Smart account — the same account you use to manage your locks and properties in the Yacan app. Before connecting, confirm that:

1. Your Yacan locks are online and reachable through a Yacan Gateway G2.
2. You can sign in to your Yacan account and see the locks you want to control.

Step 2: Connect to Seam via Connect Webview

1. Open the Connect Webview provided by your application.
2. Select Yacan as the provider.
3. Sign in with your Yacan account and authorize access when prompted.
4. Once authorized, your online Yacan locks appear as devices in Seam.

Step 3: Verify the Connection

After connecting, verify that your online Yacan locks appear as devices and show as online with lock/unlock and access code capabilities.

Troubleshooting

Authorization fails in Connect Webview

Make sure you are signing in with the correct Yacan account credentials and that you approve the authorization prompt. If sign-in continues to fail, confirm your account is active in the Yacan app.

Locks not appearing after authorization

Ensure each lock is paired to a Yacan Gateway G2 that is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi. Only locks that are online through a gateway are visible to Seam.

Lock shows as offline

Check that the lock is within range of its gateway and that the gateway’s Wi-Fi connection is active. Re-pair the lock with the gateway if necessary.

Remote lock or unlock does not work

Remote actions require an online, gateway-connected lock. Verify the gateway has internet access so it can relay commands from Seam to the lock.
