This guide walks you through connecting your Kwikset locks to Seam. Your locks must already be set up and working in the Kwikset App before proceeding.

1. Create a Kwikset account

If you don’t already have one, download the Kwikset App and create an account. Add your Kwikset locks in the app and confirm they are online.

2. Disable 2-Step Verification

In the Kwikset App, tap the top-left menu button, navigate to Account Settings, and disable 2-Step Verification.
You must disable 2-Step Verification (multifactor authentication) before connecting your Kwikset account to Seam. Enabling MFA can block the Seam login process from performing successful authorization using your Kwikset account. After you connect your Kwikset account to Seam, you can re-enable 2-Step Verification in the Kwikset App Account Settings.

3. Connect Kwikset to Seam

Use the login credentials for your Kwikset account to log in through the Seam Connect Webview and authorize Seam to access your devices.

4. Verify the connection

After completing the Connect Webview, confirm that your Kwikset locks appear in your Seam workspace and show an online status.

Troubleshooting

If your devices don’t appear after connecting:
  • Confirm that your Kwikset locks are online in the Kwikset App.
  • Verify that you logged in with the same Kwikset account that owns the locks.
  • Wait a few minutes for the initial sync to complete, then refresh your device list.
If you receive an authorization error during the Connect Webview:
  • Verify that 2-Step Verification is disabled in the Kwikset App Account Settings.
  • You can re-enable 2-Step Verification after the connection is established.
