Overview
Kisi is a cloud-based access control system. Kisi controllers and readers are installed on doors, and members unlock those doors with mobile credentials or from the Kisi dashboard. Access is managed centrally in a Kisi organization, which is organized into places (sites) and locks (doors). Seam models each Kisi organization as an access control system and each door as an entrance. Because Kisi is cloud-native, no Seam gateway or bridge is required — Seam communicates with your system through the Kisi cloud.Seam authorizes against your Kisi organization using a Kisi API key. There is
no separate Seam hardware to install. Your Kisi controllers must be online for
remote unlock to succeed.
Supported Devices
This integration supports the locks (doors) in your Kisi organization that are managed through Kisi controllers. Each door appears in Seam both as an ACS entrance and as a device with thekisi_lock device type.

Supported Features
We support the following features:- Managing the access control system — retrieve the Kisi organization and its entrances.
- Triggering remote unlock actions on the doors in your organization.
- Issuing cloud keys — web-based unlocks that are attributed to a specific Kisi user in the organization’s audit log. Deliver them as a shareable link or as an unlock button in your app.

Brand-Specific Restrictions
- Unlock only. Kisi does not expose a remote re-lock action, so Seam supports unlock but not lock.
- Cloud keys only. Seam grants Kisi access through cloud keys (web-based unlock). PIN codes, physical key cards, and mobile (BLE/NFC) app keys cannot be provisioned through Seam.
- Users are managed in Kisi. Seam cannot create standalone Kisi users directly. Provision members through Access Grants, which create the underlying Kisi user and cloud-key credential for you.
- Restricted doors may reject unlocks. Doors configured in Kisi with geofence or reader-proximity restrictions may reject remote API unlocks. Seam surfaces a warning on these entrances.
Device Provider Key
To create a Connect Webview that enables your users to connect their Kisi system to Seam, include thekisi device provider key in the accepted_providers list. For more information, see Customize the Brands to Display in Your Connect Webviews.
