Overview

This guide walks you through connecting your August smart locks to Seam. Your locks must already be physically installed and working before proceeding.

Step 1: Set Up the August Home App

  1. Download the August Home App and create an account if you don’t have one.
  2. In the August Home App, add your August devices.

Step 2: Connect to Seam

Use your login credentials for the August Home App to log in to the Connect Webview to add your August devices to Seam.

Step 3: Verify the Connection

After connecting, verify that your August devices appear in your Seam workspace and that each device shows an online status.

Troubleshooting

Devices not appearing after connecting

  • Verify that your August devices are added and online in the August Home App.
  • If your lock requires the August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge, confirm the bridge is plugged in and connected.

Lock shows as offline

  • Check that the lock has a working Wi-Fi connection, either through built-in Wi-Fi or the August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge.
  • Open the August Home App and verify the lock status.
