To use Seam with SmartThings-connected devices, ask the device owner to complete the steps below. Devices must already be paired to a SmartThings Hub before proceeding.

1. Set up the SmartThings app

  1. Download and install the SmartThings app and create an account if you don’t have one.
  2. In the SmartThings app, add your devices.
  3. Follow these instructions to pair your devices to the SmartThings Hub.

2. Connect SmartThings to Seam

  1. Note your login credentials for the SmartThings app.
  2. In the form to connect SmartThings to Seam, enter those credentials and click Submit to complete.

Troubleshooting

If devices don’t appear after connecting your account:
  • Verify that each device is online and paired to the SmartThings Hub in the SmartThings app.
  • Confirm you’re logging in with the correct SmartThings account credentials.
