Overview

Seam integrates with the dormakaba Oracode Live access control management platform. Intended for the vacation and short-term rental industries, the Oracode Live platform supports a “no keys, no cards” concept for efficient and secure access. Further, with the Oracode Live platform, codes expire automatically at the end of the authorized period. The Seam integration supports both online and offline access codes on dormakaba Oracode locks. Seam automatically detects each door’s connectivity and reports it through the device’s capabilities: gateway-connected doors program online access codes (can_program_online_access_codes), while standalone doors program offline access codes (can_program_offline_access_codes). To grant access, we recommend using Access Grants — Seam’s high-level, device-agnostic way to give a person access — which materialize the correct access code for you. For direct control, you can also use the lower-level Access Codes API. You can use a variety of dormakaba Oracode smart locks with the Oracode Live platform. These strong and durable locks have commercial-grade finishes to withstand a wide range of climates.

Supported Devices

This integration supports all locks connected using the Oracode Live platform. Depending on whether a door is gateway-connected, Seam provisions either online or offline access codes for applicable dormakaba Oracode devices. Supported Features

We support the following features:
  • Access Grants — The recommended way to grant a person access with Seam. Access Grants create the correct dormakaba Oracode access code for you and surface a device_time_constraints_violated warning when a request cannot be programmed.
  • Access Codes — The lower-level API for creating individual online or offline codes directly on a device.

Brand-Specific Restrictions

  • dormakaba Oracode does not support remote lock or unlock, or mobile keys. Access is granted exclusively through access codes.
  • You cannot specify the PIN for a dormakaba Oracode access code (the cannot_specify_pin_code code constraint). Seam returns an auto-generated code.
  • Access code times must match one of the door’s predefined time slots (“user levels”). Read the device’s time constraints before creating codes. See Check a device’s time constraints.
  • Offline access codes cannot be updated or deleted after creation.

Device Provider Key

Seam identifies these devices with the dormakaba_oracode device provider key. By default, a Connect Webview displays all of the stable providers that Seam supports, so your users can connect their dormakaba Oracode devices without you specifying a provider list.
