# SmartThings Setup Guide

> Connect your SmartThings hubs and devices to Seam.

To use Seam with SmartThings-connected devices, ask the device owner to complete the steps below. Devices must already be paired to a SmartThings Hub before proceeding.

### 1. Set up the SmartThings app

1. Download and install the [SmartThings app](https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/smartthings) and create an account if you don't have one.
2. In the SmartThings app, add your devices.
3. Follow [these instructions](https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/mobile-devices/smartthings-how-to-set-up-your-hub/) to pair your devices to the SmartThings Hub.

### 2. Connect SmartThings to Seam

1. Note your login credentials for the SmartThings app.
2. In the form to connect SmartThings to Seam, enter those credentials and click **Submit** to complete.

### Troubleshooting

If devices don't appear after connecting your account:

* Verify that each device is online and paired to the SmartThings Hub in the SmartThings app.
* Confirm you're logging in with the correct SmartThings account credentials.
